REDOX OB FAST enables the assessment of oxidative stress status through redox balance analysis.
In every organism there is a delicate balance, called redox, between oxidising and antioxidising molecules.
It is well known in the literature (Nat Rev Mol Cell Biol. 2020, 21:363-383.) that alterations in the redox balance, i.e. oxidative stress, are associated with numerous diseases, especially chronic or age-related diseases (diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, …. ). In this context, it is therefore necessary to have analytical tools capable of assessing the redox status of an individual. Recently, it has emerged that an ideal analytical tool is one that can assess the systemic redox profile by analysing a capillary blood sample (Antioxid Redox Signal. 2020, doi: 10.1089/ars.2020.8212.).
REDOX OB FAST makes it possible to determine both the pro-oxidant power, using the d-ROMs FAST method, and the antioxidant power, using the PAT method, allowing a complete analysis of the redox balance.
REDOX OB FAST is an IVD that can be performed on a dedicated photometer (FRAS 5 or FRAS BRAVO) in less than 10 minutes from 20 µl of capillary blood plasma.
The FRAS system is designed for outpatient use or directly in the pharmacy.
Reagents can be stored at room temperature, the methods are easy to perform and the instrument follows the operator step by step.
The FRAS system can be used in human and veterinary medicine.
