FRAS 5

FRAS 5 is a complete portable laboratory for measuring the redox balance in blood and the antioxidant power in saliva. It consists of a centrifuge for extracting plasma from blood, a photometer for performing the tests, a touch screen display and a printer for returning the results on a receipt.

In less than 10 minutes, the redox balance in the blood can be determined using the d-ROMs FAST (prooxidant power) and PAT (antioxidant power). A single capillary blood sample, by acupuncture, is sufficient to perform both tests. FRAS 5 is also able to calculate the oxidative stress index (OSI) in real time.

The OSI index is an excellent starting point for the physician’s overall assessment of oxidative stress and makes it possible to quickly evaluate improvements or deteriorations following treatment.

On FRAS 5 it is also possible to carry out the SAT test by means of a saliva sampling, which shows the antioxidant capacity of saliva, an important indicator of oral health.

For further analysis of the redox balance, a web app (OB Manager Online) is available, which provides a detailed report based on the values returned by the instrument and the completion of questionnaires.

Using OB Manager Online, you can effectively monitor the redox balance and optimise specific antioxidant therapies.
